Weekend Trivia (9-Nov)

The weekend didn’t turn out as expected.

Friday
Meet The Doctor for dinner at the Old Angle. Once upon an Oktoberfest (in September), a rather “happy” me went to the Old Angle with fellow Oktoberfest celebrants. There, I ordered a steak wrap that seemed sublime. On Friday, I had this steak wrap again. The wrap was still tasty when I could taste it.

However, The Doctor and I go to the Old Angle way too often. We’re trying to decide where else we could go for a pint, an occasional meal and be able to have a conversation without having to shout. Side of town is unimportant. I’ll take any advice you folks can throw my way via comment or email (blogging at bakaitis dot com).

Saturday
I got a carpet for my living room. The change is so dramatic that it feels like I was living in a wooden box and now I actually live in a house. How does that work? One change and, aesthetically, everything is different. Strange part - I didn’t look for the carpet. I got a call from a friend that they saw a carpet that would be perfect for my living room and it is. Jackpot.

Saturday night? Go read the last post. I saw Who’s bad?. (You need to click on that link if you weren’t there.)

There’s one thing I’ve been processing since last night: nostalgia.

I was never a big Michael Jackson fan. Hearing the songs got to me. I thought about my first slow dance with a girl while I was in middle school. I thought about a friend who got the Thriller video on VHS and how we watched it over and over for a week after Christmas. I remembered friends at school buying the red leather jackets. One friend wore a white glove. I’m not joking.

So I’m still working on this one. Nostalgia? I’m the least sentimental man on this planet. WTF?

Sunday
This was the day of unplanned events. Cleaning an insidious spyware infection and getting fed by the parents in return. Getting an unexpected email to meet for coffee. Getting a phone call from a friend in need and helping by listening.

As always, nothing is resolved when the weekend is over, but I think things continue to get better. Nobody jinx me!
