There’s this myth about the boiled frog.
In the myth, a frog that is dropped directly into a pan of hot water will jump out. It realizes that the water is too hot so reacts appropriately.
The myth continues, saying that a frog put in a pan of room temperature water will stay there, happy. If the water is heated, slowly, the frog doesn’t realize what is happening and (unfortunately) dies.
There are moments when I look around and say “Hey, wait. I’m the frog.”
I hate those moments.
They mean things have to change.
…that I have to jump.
…hop.
…leap.
…do something frog-like.
