Sulfur?

I have a real, serious problem. From time to time, there is a sulfurous smell in my house. It isn’t the scent from natural gas, although I’ve still checked all my gas appliances. I’ve scoured the house, but no luck.

It’s one of those little things that pops up at random times and is frustrating in it’s elusive nature.

And, yeah, I’ve got to do something about the demons in the basement, too…

Sounds more like it might be one of your drains… The basement is probably a good place to start looking!

Possibly also hot water tank, if you’ve got one. We had the same problem in the Woodstock house, and that’s what it turned out to be.

Google “hot water tank sulphur smell” and you’ll get a bunch of hits.

Actually, I think knwd is probably right. The sulfur smell only happens near two drains in the house…

…which doesn’t rule out the hot water tank, I suppose. Water is involved in both cases. Hrm.

More research is obviously needed…but both are helpful suggestions. Thanks!
