Annoying.
The datacenter where my server lives had a power outage. One reason the server is in a datacenter and not in my basement is because datacenters (allegedly) have multiple sources of power, battery backups, numerous network carrier connections…
In other words, datacenters should have what my basement does not have: lots of redundancy so stuff doesn’t go down.
Strangely, my server did go down along with all the others at the datacenter.
When it came back online, I got confirm that everything was running and nothing was hosed.
Angie’s List for Internet Providers?
Anybody have any recommendations for a dedicated server provider who can prove their datacenter works the way datacenters are advertised to work? Heck, I’ll even get a server and co-locate if it’s in the Cleveland area. Maybe it is time for me to buy a rack for my basement? Anybody want to share a T1?
Blahhhh!
